About the Event

The future is uncertain. Yet we know that, if humanity is to succeed, we need to create a world in which everyone can thrive. Business as usual is no longer enough – if we are to create a future that truly serves humanity, human rights must be a dynamic in business that goes beyond compliance: they must be at the heart of organisational leadership, strategy and culture.

In 1964, Robert F. Kennedy observed that “The power to act is the power to command resources.” Nearly half of the world’s hundred largest economies are public companies, giving them a special role in making human rights reality.

Kerry Kennedy, Sir Richard Leese and Mayor Andy Burnham are delighted to invite you to join 130 cross-sector senior decision-makers from the business, finance and technology communities to explore how you and your organisation can be champions for the creation of a more human world.

Presented by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights UK in partnership with 53° Capital and Roland Dransfield, the Ripples of Hope Business & Investment Summit is an opportunity and space for you to pause and reflect on your role as a leader and the future of your organisation.

Facilitated by leadership development experts Leaders Quest, and with speakers including Helle Thorning-Schmidt (Prime Minister of Denmark, 2011-15); Ian Stuart (CEO, HSBC UK); Gina Miller (Founder, SCM Direct & rights activist); Jason Stockwood (Founder, 53° Capital) & John Elkington (author, The Triple Bottom Line), over an intensive and interactive one-day programme, you and your peers will:

  • Discuss the likely impact of the dynamics shaping our future.
  • Ask challenging questions about how our businesses have to adapt.
  • Reflect on and develop your role, capacity and skills as a leader.
  • Return to your organisation with practical steps and a powerful sense of how your organisation can build a successful and people-focused future

We hope you can join us build a community of leaders and organisations working together to build a more human future.
